IEEE Settles in Haidian

On January 21, 2008, the ceremony for the opening of the China Office of the American Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) was held in Shangri-La Hotel. The China Office of IEEE is located at Rongke Plaza in Haidian District. (North Fourth Ring Road of Beijing). Lewis Terman, current president of IEEE, and John Vig, of the incoming president for 2009, attended the ceremony. Shang Yong, deputy director of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Lu Yanchang, deputy chairman of China Technology Association, Wu Hequan, deputy director of China Science Academy, Yu Jun, vice mayor of Haidian District and deputy director of the Administrative Committee of Haidian Science Park, Li Kaifu, deputy president of Google, and Zhang Yaqin, deputy president of Microsoft, also attended and addressed the ceremony.
