IASP opens its new Beijing Office at TusPark of Haidian District

On December 1, 2008, a ceremony was held at Tsinghua Science Park  (TusPark) of Haidian District to celebrate the signing of a framework agreement of strategic cooperation between the International Association of Science Parks(IASP) and Zhongguancun Haidian Science Park (HSP). The ceremony also marks a new starting point of cooperation since Beijing New Technology Industrial Development and Experimental Zone (HSP’s predecessor) joined IASP in 1995.

The ceremony was hosted by Mr. Fu Shouqing, assistant to the mayor of Haidian District, deputy director of HSP, and director of the General Affairs Office of HSP.

On the behalf of the IASP, IASP Director General Luis Sanz appointed Herbert Chen, deputy director of Tsinghua Science Park Development Center and Senior Vice President of Tsinghua Science Park , as the new IASP Beijing office Director.

Moreover, Mr. Sanz also named Zhang Xiuying, deputy director of the General Affairs Office of HSP, Chief of International Promotion & Cooperation Division of HSP, and a certified International Management Consultant, as the special adviser to the Network Development Promotion of IASP Beijing Office for a two-year term.

Joan Bellavista, president of IASP and Mr. Zhao Fengtong, vice mayor of Beijing, sent their message of congratulations to the ceremony. Ms. Xiu Xiaoping, vice-director of the MST (Ministry of Science and Technology) Torch Center participated the ceremony. They all expressed their appreciation and confidence for the mode of cooperation.
